Finish, Test & Record
The final test checks whether the solution functions as intended — and gives evidence about the quality of the build.
Today students will…
Finish
the solution and correct obvious construction weaknesses.
Test
whether the solution functions as intended under the standard condition.
Finalize
the list of changes made during creation.
Insert without forcing or damaging it.
Confirm 15 × 15 × 15 cm before testing.
No loose parts that should already be secure.
List any last build change before the test.
Use the payload and drop condition announced at the start of the challenge. Place the payload correctly, close / prepare the package as designed, run one controlled test, then inspect the payload and solution.
Intact or damaged?
Stayed together enough to complete its intended job?
Can the payload be removed after testing?
A failed test is still valid evidence. Do not change the recorded result to match what you hoped would happen.
Complete the final build evidence.
Finish
Use the short finishing window.
Test
Run the standard teacher test.
Record
Document result, function, and any final change already made.
Formal Unit 3 evidence.
B.i
Success criteria list.
B.ii–iv
Ideas, chosen design, planning drawing.
C.i
Creation plan with resources and time.
C.ii–iv
Technical making, functioning solution, change record.
Finish the unit with one insight.
What comes next?
Unit 4 moves into sustainable design, material choices, creation, testing, and formal Criterion D evaluation.
